Yesterday was productive albeit boring. I woke early and worked until the late afternoon, catching up on some projects that needed my attention. The boys spent the majority of their days in their respective bedrooms, watching television and playing on computers. After spending several days in cramped and hot quarters, it was nice to spread out and seek some alone time.
I suspect that today will be a repeat of yesterday. Between the heat and trying to avoid contact activities, Timmy is becoming very bored this summer. Because of his broken arm he has not been able to participate in his tumble camp or ride his bike. For a 10 year old in the summer, removing those two options has been nearly catastrophic. The ortho advised that we keep him from falling until the Fourth of July. After that date, his bones should be thoroughly cemented and the risk of a rebreak nearly mirror his uninjured arm.
The Fourth of July is tomorrow which will officially end, according to the doctor, Timmy's treatment for his broken arm. It has been a long three months and I know he is eager to return to normal. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and he will be able to spend the majority of the time outside playing. Today however will be occupied by playing inside and waiting for the heat to break.
Today also marks 21 years since my foot was amputated. My goodness. My amputation is now of legal drinking age.
