About Me

I am a below knee amputee. More importantly, I am also Mommy to two boys, a very active 10 year old (Robby) and an mischievous toddler (Timmy). I have learned that being a parent with a disability can create some unusual and sometimes humorous situations. This blogger is available for hire! Guitar

Robby has officially embarked on his newest adventure. He had his first guitar lesson, and he had a fantastic time. He was so nervous entering the music school, but I knew that once he met his instructor and became familiar with the flow he would be fine. In many ways he is like me, apprehensive about new experiences and building up the anxiety in his head.

He was shaky and unsure walking into the school, but he was all smiles and giddy when I picked him up. He couldn't wait to start practicing and he is looking forward to his lesson next week. Hearing him playing his new chords last night made me smile. I love the sound of the guitar being played.

My Dad used to play the guitar, and my childhood is filled with memories of him strumming and singing in the living room. Although he hasn't played as much in the past few years, Scott is also talented with a guitar. It has since dissolved, but when we first met he was a member of a teacher band. It was so much fun going to watch him play.

I'm glad that Robby is continuing the family tradition of learning the guitar. I know that the skill will be valuable throughout his life. I'm looking forward to watching his progression and hearing him continually improve.
