About Me

My photo
I am a below knee amputee. More importantly, I am also Mommy to two boys, a very active 10 year old (Robby) and an mischievous toddler (Timmy). I have learned that being a parent with a disability can create some unusual and sometimes humorous situations. This blogger is available for hire! Let's talk and learn how a blog can expand your business.

Fireplace

Yesterday was uneventful but extremely productive. I worked all day, the kids were in school and Scott was at work. Friend seemed content to lounge around, basking in the sun while warming himself by the fire. After a hectic holiday season, it was nice to be back at the grind.

Today will be a repeat of yesterday with the absence of the fire. Scott had to cover the chimney last night because we are getting rain (shocking) today. I am so frustrated that we continue to deal with a leak despite a complete roof replacement and extensive chimney and mortar repair work. I look at the blue tarp that Scott has to throw over the chimney before each storm and I want to cry and scream from frustration.

At this point we aren't sure if we are going to even try to repair the chimney or if we are just going to sell the house 'as is.' Structurally we are in good shape but the carpets are worn and the tiles are from the early 1970s. I suspect that we will need to do an extensive refresh if we want to sell for top dollar, but I honestly don't know if we would recoup the investment. Sigh. This is inching up my anxiety list in the middle of the night!

My leg is achy today so I won't be embarking on any great projects. Instead I'll be sedentary, quietly working and researching on my computer. These cold rain days ache my limb from my knee through my phantom toes. It's going to be an uncomfortable day.
