About Me

My photo
I am a below knee amputee. More importantly, I am also Mommy to two boys, a very active 10 year old (Robby) and an mischievous toddler (Timmy). I have learned that being a parent with a disability can create some unusual and sometimes humorous situations. This blogger is available for hire! Let's talk and learn how a blog can expand your business.

Updates

I love my job, but being tethered to WV right now is difficult. With my Mom struggling with a broken leg in traction and reliant upon my sister for care right now, I feel utterly helpless. While I'm happy to be a cheerleader, my words of support do little to lighten the load for either of them. It's ironic that I am finally working a job that leaves me feeling valued but it also renders me unable to travel to help my family.

I'm very grateful that my sister works from home and has seamlessly stepped into the role of temporary nurse.  (No Mom, you are not helpless.  But you have a broken leg and need help right now. It's okay!)  With a scan scheduled for tomorrow and a repeat visit to the doctor to the review the results scheduled for next Tuesday, the next week is going to be difficult for everybody involved.

Hopefully everybody will ease into a comfortable schedule and the healing with be smooth.

In other news, Scott has officially resigned as an aide. It has taken several weeks to go through the system, but the official notice for his new job has finally arrived. In order for him to accept the new position, he needed to promptly resign from his current role. Needless to say, that was an email I was happy to help him craft.

I am so excited for him to step into this new job. Forging relationships with teens is his strength and he is going to do an amazing job. He is already gathering supplies for his snack and grooming closet and I bought him a huge hidden picture poster to help his students pass some time as they open up.  When does he start? We still don't know, but we assume it is soon.
